A church is not created by building a place to meet, throwing together some sweet programs and finding specialized staff to meet the different needs of people. While all those things are important, they do not define the Church. The Church is not formed by trying to "do" church well, but rather it is created by people embracing and extending the gospel. As people live out the implications of the gospel and proclaim it to their neighbors, communities, cities, and to the nations the local church grows around that activity. At River of Life, we want everything we do to be viewed through the lens of Gospel as we help people to embrace and extend the good news of what Jesus Christ has done. As Paul says in 1st Corinthians 9:23, "I do all this for the sake of the gospel that I may share in its blessings."
